Some information on our newest sponsor.

Who We Are We

Twenty20, the makers of VholdR and now ContourHD, is a Seattle company helping modern explorers tell their video stories of action, adventure, and travel. At the core, we are a passionate group of adventure sports enthusiasts and start-up junkies focused on making action video easy to shoot and share online.

Our Story

The vision for Twenty20 began in 2003 out of the University of Washington business plan competition when two undergraduate students and avid skiers, Marc Barros and Jason Green, devised a simple helmet camera to record their exploits. The duo wanted to share video of the thrills and spills of their downhill skiing adventures with their friends and family, but they couldn’t. The frozen mountaintop was a grueling and unforgiving environment for video camcorders. Besides, when you’re zooming downhill, crashing through trees with ski poles in your hands, it’s just not possible to hold a camera.

After winning third place in the competition and enough money to afford the rent on a chilly warehouse, the two friends began building and selling the Twenty20 Helmet Camera. Over the years Twenty20 introduced a series of innovations to make action video easier to shoot and share.

Twenty20 Helmet Camera V1 – The first CMOS sensor helmet camera and the first to be powered by a 9-volt battery pack, capturing 16 hours of power (all competing cameras on the market required 4-8 AA batteries).

Twenty20 Helmet Camera V2 – A brand new CMOS image sensor was introduced with a single wiring harness so users had one power button and one cable running from the lens to the camcorder.

VholdR – The company introduced the first shoot and share wearable camcorder. The award-winning VholdR (2008 CES Innovations Award and 2008 Business Week IDEA Bronze Medal) introduced recording to a microSD memory card, an iconic single button to record, lasers for alignment, a click to share online experience, and an online international adventure sports community.

ContourHD – The Company is now introducing the first HD wearable camcorder capable of capturing and sharing HD quality video online in seconds. The ability to capture video in High Definition or High Action, record 8 hours of HD video on a single memory card, shoot video with a wide angle lens, and use software to share HD video, is again leading the market.

The company’s original mission to make action video easy to shoot and share continues to drive us forward. Poised on the brink of our next big innovation, we want to say thank YOU for your continued support.

Now put HD video on your head and share it with your friends.

For more information check out www.vholdr.com

Just check out the quality of their camera’s, by far the leaders in HD micro camera quality!!!

Besides the rally, Gumball puts on events year round and 2010 is the year were Gumball will get very involved in drifting and we are currently working on several groundbreaking and cool projects within the industry. Gumball will also get more involved in the skate scene, with our new Gumball 3000 skate team we will attend the main events and competitions. Gumball apparel has grown into a full range clothing brand, which will be available in key streetwear stores in Europe and the US.

So what a crazy weekend once again in Fukushima, Japan for the Ebisu Drift Matsuri. The weekend started off with a negative vibe forecasted for rain all day Saturday and partly on Sunday but still this did not stop us getting over 40+ plus interviews with the drivers at the event including, Daigo Saito, Naoto Suenaga, Paul Vlasblom from Holland and a heap of Aussie’s and Japanese locals.

The first set of photos below are from a little digi cam Don Vito was using all weekend but stay tuned as the next post will be snap shots taken from my camera of all the close up action, crashes and one on one interviews.

Here i am pictured below filming on the famous Minami D1 course.

That yellow tape in the bottom of the picture says “no entry”.

The view from a very unsafe and scary look out thats hanging over the edge of the mountain at Kita course.

Yes that is a wasp nest!!!

Here is a guy your going to be seeing a heap of, Don AKA Don Vito my right hand man when it
comes to interviewing anyone thats standing in front of my camera lense.

Even the pros can drive a little too hard, here is Daigo Saito writing off his car.

Don took this snap shot up at Kita course where the Aussie boys were playing the famous bottle game.
Now picture where im standing, directly in front of this car as its head towards my camera and body at over 80 clicks!

Stay tuned, on the next post i will show you some snap shots that no one else on the internet will
have, why? Simple, no one else gets as close to the action as we do and im talking about inches from moving cars.

Sunday moring heading down to the back section of Minami for some more filming.

Sunday afternoon the sky opened up once again and showered us with water. This did not
Paul Vlasblom driving just as fast as he was in the dry but now in the wet.

Spot the Japanese, the first ever G1 Grand Prix (Gaijin - foreigner only) event and we were there
interviewing the drivers and filming the action!
